首先它是西方媒体，它所宣扬的是西方那一套价值体系 其次它是商业媒体，它就必然会炒作，特别是它的亚洲版港进入中国市场的时候 总之，我认为，它是一个有全球影响力的杂志，但对它的内容我们应该学会甄别，不能一味盲从 自从美国《时代周刊》杂志亚洲版将《超级女声》冠军李宇春上了封面之后，一直在中国媒体炙手可热的李宇春遭受了前所未有的“批评”。这一切都归功于《时代周刊》“平民英雄”的封号。 几乎所有批评李宇春不符合“平民英雄”标准的媒体都不得不反复出现《时代周刊》亚洲版的字样，这样就使本来没有多少中国人知道美国的《时代周刊》杂志还有亚洲版的读者，通过批评“平民英雄”李宇春而起到免费“广告”的效果。而这一切，都是以牺牲李宇春的公众认知度和美誉为代价的。 表面上李宇春获得《时代周刊》“平民英雄”的封号很风光，其实，除了让本来跃跃欲试的广告商看到大量批评报道退步以外，还会让国内主流媒体不得不警惕“平民英雄”潜在的政治导向问题。也不排除由此引起主管机关采取相应技术性“休克”的可能。 对于300多万的“玉米”来说，以前看《时代周刊》亚洲版的人寥寥无几，可是现在不同了，几乎所有的“玉米”都希望收藏一本“平民英雄”李宇春为封面人物的亚洲版《时代周刊》。更“阴险”的是：这个“平民英雄”的封号会严重影响为数庞大的中国青少年的价值取向。 如果一个国家，或者一个民族的价值取向正在受到外来势力影响的话，那就不简单是李宇春，或者300多万的“玉米”乐意不乐意的事情了。而是每一个理性中国人都应该深思的事情了。 据一位和李宇春关系非常要好的朋友透露：李宇春极其家人已经注意到因为《时代周刊》强加给李宇春“亚洲英雄”称号之后给李宇春带来的负面影响，我们正在密切关注事态的变化和发展，如果事态再进一步恶化，将不排除采取诉讼的方式维护自己的权益。 无论李宇春最终是否起诉了《时代周刊》，《时代周刊》在赚足了中国读者注意力的同时，今后少干些一相情愿、哗众取宠的事。
