Very friendly staff in a nice location close to the beach. Very child friendly. Only point to criticize: Missing ramps in the compounds for strollers

We stayed here for 5 nights in Jan 2015. We paid just under $300 a night for a superior king sea view room. We were a bit disappointed with the room for the price, don’t get me wrong the room was ok but not worth the money. The buffet was nice and the staff friendly and helpful, but everything had a price. We stayed at 2 other hotels in the Phuket
area and most of the daily events where free. At Movenpick everything cost you money. Even their grand opening of their new bar/café The Mint, they wanted 100 Bath for you to attend. It should have been free for people staying and charge anyone else. Also at the grand opening we walked passed to see a worker standing on a handrail about 6mtrs off the ground trying to adjust a light. There were people walking under him and had he slipped not nly have killed himself but also the people below. The worst thing about this is the Manager of the hotel was not more than 20 mtrs away from this going on, I understand that this happens a lot in countries like Thailand where OHS is not a priority, but a large hotel chain like Movenpick should have the same standard across all their hotel.

Location: Being at the north end of Karon Beach is a luxury. Easy to get to the madness of Patong or the mellowness of the southern beaches with very little time & effort. If you are capable of riding a scooter (note: real skills required) it's totally the way to go. Property: It's big. Probably too big (and too many kids) for my liking. It's very
long and runs from the beach all the way up to the main road above Karon. This comes in handy at times. They have 2 nice pools but one of them, the larger, is overrun with mini maniacs. The Coconut Pool is much more chill but still not enough. Basically their room-to-pool ratio is not optimal. Too many bodies. Technically you have to book a certain room level to access the Coconut Pool (which we did) but I don't think they check. Room: We got one of their nicest rooms (#531), a split-level pool villa suite with a private rooftop lounge area & plunge pool. Very nice and great value for what/where it is. You'll pay about half of what you'd pay for any other premium location private pool villa on the west (beach) side of Phuket. I really only have 1 complaint...but it's glaring. This was a big room, maybe
sf total counting private courtyard & loft/pool. But it only had A/C in the bedroom area so other parts of the room (entry, hallway, bathroom) got really hot & muggy unless you blast the A/C at max which turns your bedroom into an icebox. There was no middle ground. They need to address this.

Ok Stay. The main pool was small in comparison to the number of people being accommodated for. It was a fight to get a lounge every morning around the pool. Akthough there were 3 pools, we were onkly permitted to use the main pool. Breakfast was good although very busy. The room are old but the beds were comfortable. Our room had a view of a roof top...very
exciting NOT! Our airconditioner made noise which at times kept up us. When i spoke to the reception they were happy for us to change rooms..the onky problem was there were no interconnecting rooms available.

This is our first family vacation after 3 years, and we were pleasantly surprised that we were provided with a nice garden villa. Facilities are clean and "safe" for toddlers to roam around. Just have to watch out for the buggies moving about, although we noticed that they do stop when they saw our two toddlers approaching. Overall its ok place to bring
your toddlers over for vacation.

Very clean, beautiful grand lobby. Our welcome was very warm after a long journey. Rooms very well appointed. Great lighting, Beds EXCELLENT - want one this good at home. Everything we requested was granted i.e. adjoining rooms, seaview (beautiful). Only negative was that pool closed at 7pm so when we came back after long day all we wanted to do was
cool off and couldn't (although we did sneak in one night). The third bed in the second room was also small. It was actually a day bed/couch that was made up as bed. Very comfortable but not good for anyone over 5 foot tall. Fortunately it was enough for our youngest child.

We had a fantastic week in the Movenpick, Karon beach. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel complex is lovely and green and well looked after. The location is right opposite the beach, with lots of local restaurants, foot massage places and shops nearby. We would definitely return there.

We loved our stay at the Movenpick Resort at Karon beach with our 1 year old. The resort is family friendly and has a nice kids club as well. The location is fantastic, a mere 5 mins walk to the beach and the market with lots of eateries.
